Sagging of the breasts occurs due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight gain and loss, aging, loosening of the ligaments hanging the breast to the rib cage due to gravity and descent, increase in breast weight and loss of elasticity of the skin.
Sagging can be delayed by avoiding excessive weight gain and loss, sports, sun protection and preventing dry skin.
Treatment is surgical. It does not recover with sports.
In the treatment, the method is determined according to the breast structure and the expectations of the person. Plumping and lifting, shrinking and lifting can be performed.
If the breast tissue is not sufficient, it must be done together with prosthesis.
Procedures such as thread suspension, fat and filler injections under the name of non-surgical methods are very short-acting and never give the result of surgery.
Surgical methods are determined according to the degree of sagging. In mild cases, it can be done from the nipple, while in more advanced cases, the lollipop technique, popularly known as the lollipop technique, which extends down from the nipple, is performed.
Excessive smokers, diabetics and those who use blood thinners may have nipple feeding problems.
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It takes an average of 2 hours. You can be discharged on the same day. It is not a painful procedure. 3 days of rest is enough. On the 3rd day, shower is taken. 6 weeks sports bra use is appropriate. After 4 weeks, sports can be started.
FALSE BREAST SAGGING
It is sagging due to volume loss in the breast. It should be differentiated from true sagging, otherwise the wrong treatment is performed. The ideal is the use of prosthesis, but the technique and method differ. Excellent results are obtained with proper planning.
BREAST ASYMMETRY
Like all paired organs, breasts are normally not mirror images of each other. However, when this difference is severe, it creates both aesthetic and psychological problems.
There can be asymmetries in different ways. While one breast may be normal, the other may be small, large or saggy, and both may have abnormal size problems. One breast may even be absent (Poland syndrome).
While psychological support is given during the growth period, prosthesis, reduction and lifting methods are used after growth is completed.
NIPPLE DEPRESSION
The nipple may collapse inward due to congenital or previous infections. It may prevent breastfeeding and cause abscess formation. The treatment is surgical and the bands pulling the nipple in are cut and supported with slings and protected for 2-3 months.
